It’s a few weeks past due, but here’s the latest episode of the Construction Industry Podcast, and the first for 2013. It has been a crazy few weeks for me as I returned from Las Vegas where I was a speaker at New Media Expo.
But believe me when I say that the wait was worth it. I have a number of episodes in the pipeline now and they are amazing.
Today I bring an interview with Mark Shaw, the person behind this product that could change our entire construction industry:
There are thousands of people all over the internet drooling over this video and with tons of questions. Mark answered a bunch of my own questions and a few others that I have been seeing online about this. Click the orange “play” button above this post to listen to the episode.
Mark Shaw, Ultra Tech International
Mark Shaw is the founder and principal at Ultra Tech International. He has 29 years of experience in the designing, developing, sales and marketing of products in the fields of spill containment, spill response, stormwater management, construction compliance, facility protection, bio-remediation (microbes), oil spill, and radioactive waste management. He has developed over 500 new products and is the inventor of over fifty patents.
Mark spoke with me from his office in Florida.

This product is not a prototype. It’s available right now and you can get it right away.
New Media Expo Update
This is the first episode of the podcast since my experience at the New Media Expo in Las Vegas, so I’d like to give you a quick update.
It was an awesome experience. Besides having the honour of being a speaker, I had a chance to meet some friends in person for the first time including:
- Cliff Ravenscraft, from PodcastAnswerMan.com
- Pat Flynn, from Smart Passive Income
- Leo Laporte, from This Week In Tech
- Albert Hathazi, from The Local Method podcast (and a former guest on this show)
- Dustin Hartzler, from YourWebsiteEngineer.com (who has saved my skin a few times when remontech.com was hacked)
- Jonathan Shank, from Your First Virtual Assistant
- Peder Aadahl, from 168 Opportunities
- and many many other awesome people.
This was my first time in Vegas and I had a blast hanging out with people who are creating some fantastic things on the web, either with their blogs, podcasts, or web TV initiatives.
I’d Like to Speak at a Construction Conference
I had such a great experience speaking at NMX that I set a goal for 2013 to speak again at a conference. This time, however, I’d like to speak at a construction event.
I am really passionate about using new media within the construction sector and I would love to talk about this to a construction audience. I’m already in talks with the organizers of a few shows, but if you think I’d be a good fit for a show that you attend, or a conference that you help organize, I’d love to hear from you.
