You’re fired.
Hiring is a science. Though we are a small company here at Remontech, we have had to hire in the past and it was a difficult task.
Often we hire because we have a sudden need of help. This becomes an issue because the sense of urgency will tend to cloud our judgement.
The fact is that organizations are merely the collection of souls who work there, bonded together by a common culture. Hiring and letting go of people is perhaps the most important aspect of any business – construction or not.
On this episode of the Construction Industry Podcast I speak with Scott Sayers, president of Sayers and Associates. Here are some of the topics we covered:
- How important is labor/workforce management in construction ?
- What do successful construction business owners do to attract great workforce and what are they looking for?
- What is recommended for hiring young workers in construction?
- How technology can help construction business owners to face challenges such as shortage of skills?
- What is the importance to have workers who match corporate culture?

My Interview with TechZulu
On this episode I also share this neat little video taken during the latest New Media Expo in Las Vegas last January. Check out the video below where I explain how the Construction Industry Podcast started and how it fits with our marketing strategy here at Remontech.
Live Construction Feed from Toronto
We are currently monitoring the construction of a silo that is employing a slip form. It’s a very nice project to watch, so I thought I’d share the link here with you.
