Cesar Abeid from Remontech.
Today’s show is a bit different. As you know we here at Remontech provide remote construction monitoring on the internet for commercial and industrial construction projects, but I don’t really talk about it that much. While the podcast is part of our marketing efforts, I never wanted to turn it into an hour-long ad for our company.
So today I’m changing things up a bit. I was recently interviewed by Aarni Heiskanen from aec-business.com and he asked me a few questions about me and about Remontech. If you remember, Aarni was my guest here on the show back in episode 34 when we talked about partnerships in the construction sector.
So if you have been listening to me for a while now and is curious about the behind the scenes here at Remontech, take a listen by pressing the orange “play” button above this post.
PM for the Masses Podcast
On this episode I also announce the upcoming launch of my latest project: The PM for the Masses Podcast, a show dedicated to encouraging and inspiring Project Managers to take control of their careers and their lives. This podcast has been in the works for a long time and I’m so excited to announce that it will be released before the end of June, 2013.
A couple of years ago I started a blog at pmforthemasses.com where I would blog about project management. As you may know I’m a certified project management professional and I wanted to create content for other project managers. The problem is that the blog had been neglected for the last little while. I started creating content for it with much enthusiasm back in 2010 but slowly life got busy and I eventually stopped. I felt like I could write well, but the commitment to write on a consistent basis became a bit of a chore.
The funny thing is that even after I stopped creating content, pmforthemasses.com continues to receive many visitors a day and people continue to join my mailing list. So not only am I still passionate about PM, but people are visiting my site and hoping for more content from me.
So I have been thinking about ways to reinvigorate pmforthemasses.com and turn it into a platform in which I can continue to create content on a regular basis without burning myself out.
As you may have realized, I have a passion for creating audio content. Producing the Construction Industry Podcast is far from being a chore. I truly enjoy it.
So here’s my idea: I am turning pmforthemasses.com into a podcast.
I am so excited to start this new project.
On this upcoming show I will be speaking and encouraging Project Managers to take control of their careers and their lives. I will bring thought leaders onto the show and ask them about their trade but also about the steps they took to become awesome project managers. I’ll ask them how they wrote their book, or how they started their blogs, or why their consultancy business is so successful, etc. We will take success and break it down into manageable chunks.
If you want to be the first to know when the show is released, please go to http://pmforthemasses.com/start and sign up for the mailing list.
