Did they build it at this speed for the publicity? I doubt you’d be interviewing them if the same building had taken 9 months!
@BenAdamSmith It has certainly helped with publicity. It’s a great question and I’ll try to sneak it in there. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of feedback I’m getting on this, especially on LinkedIn. Everybody wants to know in detail how they did this!

Mark, incredible speed/execution. How much planning time went into the building/HVAC, materials and structural implementation during preliminary /pre-planning? It’s impressive on the back end, 15 days, how much additional time pre-planning?
Did preliminary/design pre-planning the building the total building costs? How much existing Green standards were used versus developed specifically for the building? Most critical, saftey standards for materials and execution of installation! How did they monitor, effectively? Appreciate your efforts.

@Lisa Doris Interesting post, Lisa – thanks for sharing. I guess it’s hard to gauge how safe buildings are when they’re being judged by different standards from country to country. I’m going to ask them about this during my interview (still working out the details on when it’ll happen). Thanks for the awesome input!
@Lisa Doris It reminds me of the history of the building of the transcontinental railway in the US……how shoddy the initial work was motivated solely by payment on the basis of production…….

Design
Procurement
Material Delivery
PAU (Pre assembled units) Construction
Delivery to site
The actual assembly period excluding the foundations and running serevices in is not that long given unlimited and skilled labour.

@davidroberts David, thanks for that insight. You are right, it took a bit longer than the 15 days when you add it all up.I’ve already recorded the interview and will be publishing it in the next few weeks. It was quick but I got to ask some of the questions you and a bunch of others had.

The project is obviously a marvel in Building Design and Construction Planning. Planning and sourcing the right kind of Prefabricated components, including the foundation piles and evolving a connection system for all the components, etc. all may have taken anywhere between 60 to 90 days and getting all the components at site ‘Just in Time’. Where there is a will, there is a way.
